Smiffy > Our campsite at Ofi Creek. Once again we have to share it with a large tour group heading in the other direction. We chat with some of them - they're all Australian. You can tell that some are a little stressed by what lies ahead and whether they'll be able to make it. Some are nice and pleasant, others are loud and garish and think they know everything.
Smiffy > (Photo: Darren Smith) Deniki - where we had lunch on the first day. This is the view looking back towards Kokoda. The air strip can be seen in the distance. Deniki is where the Australians first retreated after the Japanese overran Kokoda. There's no village here now but some guest houses are being built. Construction of guest houses is a common sight along the trail. It is obviously a good source of income for the locals.
Smiffy > Damien's pancake.
