Ready to go at 10:45. A little late but we have torches!
There are two canyon sections to Hole in the Wall. The first one has no abseils but is just beautiful and has a couple of nice climb downs.
Collete and Matt discover that the water in this canyon is just as cold as the last canyon!
Chris agrees - it's cold.
The creek had lots of fish up to about 10cm long. No yabbies though.
Because of our late start, the sun is directly overhead during this section of the canyon. It makes us feel warmer even though it don't lend much heat.
The canyon opens up for a couple of hundred metres before the more serious part of the canyon starts.
Collete opts to abseil the water jump. I think you get less cold that way.
Matt lands the water jump. (Why didn't I capture this with a movie!)
Chris anticipating the shock of the cold water.
Collete making the tricky log absiel looks easy.
Matt succumbs to my encouragement and abseils into the pool at the bottom and receives a freezing shower for his efforts.
Chris looking deceptively relaxed on the slippery logs...
