Griffin Creek Hut Apr 2015
Li Li is leading a CTC trip to Griffin Creek Hut on the west coast. The weather doesn't look great with heavy rain and winds forecast for Sunday, but in the interest of adventure she decides to proceed. The plan is to head up Rocky Creek, cross a saddle into the Griffin Creek catchment and stay the night at Griffin Creek Hut (4 bunks). Next day we head out down Griffin Creek, across Griffin Range and down Harrington Creek. The Permolat notes say the 11km trip to Griffin Creek Hut via Rocky Creek takes at least 8 hours so we are expecting it to be pretty slow. Will we survive the slippery boulders in the creek, the wasp attacks, night tramping and possible floods?
