Mystery Lake Sep 2016

We are in Christchurch for the weekend for Adam Popovici's christening. The christening is at 2:30pm Sunday so there's time to squeeze in a short overnight tramp. After some discussion Mystery Lake from Lake Clearwater is decided - a short, flat 11km from the carpark. The DOC sign says 4 hours. "Ha!" we think as we start with 3 hours of sunlight left in the day. We finally arrive 30 minutes after sunset and Jeff finds a superb campsite on top of a hill next to the lake. We couldn't ask for better weather and we don't waste any of it. Thanks everyone for making it a great experience.
